Cowgirl in Couture is run by Rachel Steelpes.

 

Rachel started on her fashion journey at a young age. She went on to study fashion design at University and whilst completing her BA Honours degree was lucky enough to intern with Jimmy Choo, Bruce Oldfield and Peclers fashion predictions agency in Paris.  Working alongside Jimmy Choo and Bruce Oldfield in their couture workshops Rachel developed an eye for detail/quality and a growing appreciation of luxury textiles, couture and designer items.

Rachel also completed a semester in footwear design and making at “Cordwainer's  College of London” where Jimmy Choo, Patrick Cox and Emma Hope also trained.

Rachel opened the Oakham based fashion boutique in March 2017 after a move from her first fashion boutique in Lincolnshire.

Rachel handpicks and curates the stock herself and sources beautiful items in new and nearly new condition. A believer in sustainable fashion it is important to her that the shop only stocks pre-loved items in great condition. She keeps standards high and is a great believer in the circular economy.

 

Many items are new and come in with tags on, whilst some items are pre-loved. Customers often comment that they didn’t realise the shop stocked preloved items.
